Eye-fi

From 2009-04-27 (by Eye-Fi)

I just got my trial eye-fi today! So Tessa and I were messing around with the camera and taking some fun pictures to see how well they uploaded wirelessly. I took these photos outside and by the time I came in most of them had already uploaded to both my computer and picasa. pretty nifty. Can't wait to give it a try over the next 3 weeks.

Trees are Terrific!

Ada came home from school today with a cute little baby tree! In her class, they had a poster contest for Arbor Day to make posters about trees and they chose something like 5 kids from all the entries to receive a tree for their posters. I think we know the perfect location to put this little guy too... Way to go Ada!

Finally!

Ryan is the last of the kids to lose his first tooth. He has been so frustrated to have to wait until he'd almost done with 1st grade to lose a tooth. Even Tessa has already lost 2 teeth! Look at that big gaping hole and proud boy! Now we just have to wait and see if our errant tooth fairy will show up at all this week...

Feed my sheep...

Spring Foursome, originally uploaded by Essjay is happy in NZ.

One of these years Aaron and I would like to have lamb for our Easter dinner. I guess he mentioned it to Kielle. Her response? "Dad, Jesus said to feed the little lambs, not eat them!"

I am so excited because I have been given the opportunity by the One2One Network to host a giveaway for the new Yanni voices CD. It is an amazing CD with some great music. The vocalists are great. If you are interested, come over to my other blog, The Grotto and enter. I would love for one of my close friends or family members to have the chance to win this giveaway!

Fun Play-date

Tessa and her cousin,Jensen, had a lot of fun playing together this morning. Jensen is really easy going and really who can resist those dimples! He is such a cutie and we love it when he comes to visit. And I had fun trying out my pocket sized Canon SD770 IS. I love Aaron's Canon Rebel but we wanted one that we can just toss in our bag or pocket for spur of the moment photos! I am really pleased with the quality so far. I am so glad that I had a friend suggest it to me. It will be perfect to keep in my purse so I don't miss a photo opportunity. I can't wait for my eye-fi card to show up soon....

Awards Assembly

The school gives out monthly recognition awards every month for the students. Tessa received one at the start of the school year and I totally spaced it! I wasn't even doing anything else I just spaced it. My kids told me she went up to receive her award crying because I wasn't there. And for a little while she would use that to guilt trip me--
"Mommy, do you still feel bad about missing my award ceremony? I need some ice cream."

So last week I was able to redeem myself when she received another award. Phew!

Nathan, Ryan & Tessa all received different awards--Nathan received on a scholarship award, Ryan received a citizenship award and Tessa got a special recognition for being a good friend. Ada also received a Scholarship award last month, but I didn't get pictures and in all honesty I arrived right AFTER she received her award, but at least I made it and we sat together for the rest of the award ceremony. I am so pleased with their accomplishments! They are great kids!

Aaron's dad moved back to South Carolina last week, so we loaded up the kids and drove up to Logan to spend an afternoon with him. Nathan was the most visibly affected by him leaving. He gave him a few big hugs where he wouldn't let go. Even though we didn't get to see him that often, it was nice to be close enough to visit. We wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors.

First Grade Program

Ryan's First Grade Program was a little over a week ago. I figured out how to make school programs enjoyable for the whole family. Get there an hour before the show starts so you can sit on the front row and actually see! You can bet I will be there early for Kindergarten graduation. We practically have this show memorized, since this is our 4th year of it,but it is so cute with a great message on honesty! Ryan wasn't really excited about having to dress up so we were able to compromise with a polo. He did great on his part! They did a bunch of really cute actions to their songs too.

Summer Feet

A couple weeks ago when the weather was gorgeous, Tessa told me she "loved summer feet." I asked her what she meant and she she showed me her sweet little filthy feet from playing outside in flip-flops and being barefoot. The perfect way to play in the summer...Now the weather is yucky again. I can't wait til it is summer feet weather again.

My Neglected Blog

Let me get out the duster. This blog must have an inch of dust built up on it, which the occasional finger mark dragged through it just to punctuate the fact that I have been so neglectful. I pledge to be be better! I have a camera full of photos just waiting to be downloaded and then uploaded here. I have dozens of blog posts swimming in my head, so why can't I get them up here? I don't know--busy with work, kids, house, etc. But I will recommence the blogging and hopefully on a regular basis!
